Tenkara is a traditional & simple method of fly fishing that originates from the mountain streams of Japan. It is extremely effective for fishing dries and nymphs on streams and rivers here in the UK too; particularly on fast moving water where drag is an issue. Tenkara uses a lightweight telescopic rod that folds down small enough to stow in a backpack, a leader, and your favourite fly. Nothing more. Open up your sense of adventure, and enjoy fishing in a totally new way. Explore those winding streams that would ordinarily be off limits. New to fly fishing? Tenkara can be safely enjoyed by anybody with very limited fly fishing experience. Traditional casting techniques which are hard to master are not the case with Tenkara. The fixed line on the rod is simply presented with a simple forward stroke of these magical wand like rods. Fish with adventure, fish with Tenkara UK.
